With 5 acres and a large pool, La Maison des Amis is a great place to relax. But the Tarn really is one of France's hidden treasures - there's no shortage of things to see and do in the area. Here's some of our favourites.
A must visit, the largest brick building in the world, it is stunning! And right beside - The Toulouse-Lautrec museum. Not to mention some very nice restaurants for lunch or dinner.
Literally across the road from La Maison des Amis, the second most visited paying tourist site in the Tarn. Wonderful!
This really is fun for all the family. If you've never tried it, it's a must! Great spot too for a picnic for those that prefer not to partake.
We are surrounded by rivers but it's worth taking the 50 min drive to St Antoine Noble Val. Take a picnic and make a day of it!
Le Colvert is a magical spot, particularly in summer, and just down the road. But it gets a real run for its money in L'Assiette au Comptoir. Honourable mentions too for Les Rosiers de Cocagne, L'Echauguette and La Pitcholina.
A visit to France is not complete without a visit to the vineyards. La fête du vin de Gaillac is fabulous. The Friday night apéro concerts are great fun too!
A trip to the Tarn is not complete without a visit to one of the local markets.
We don't go often enough but this place is great. Facilities are top class, you might even get to see the Stade Toulousain team!
For the wee ones, take the train that runs past the end of the garden from Les Jardins des Martels to St Lieux.
Inexpensive and great fun park, transformed from an old open cast mine. Can be very hot in high summer.
Our kids love it! Paintball at Puylarens, Laserquest at Toulouse.
Heineken Cup rugby against Toulouse - a great weekend!
Top 14 Champions 2013, a hard place to get a result, always a great atmosphere!
The hills around Puylaurens are spectacular, you can even take the kids.
The first place to look for more information on what to do and see in the region, including where to eat and what's on.
Even if you wanted, we suspect you would struggle to squeeze all this into a 2 week stay!
